Policy
Departmental computer accounts are strictly regulated to ensure sufficient server space for everyone because storage space is limited. All users should be able to efficiently perform all research tasks so there will be ample storage space for research if users abide by the rules.
Procedure
• The APPM account is to be used to store APPM data only.
• No non-APPM related material is allowed to be stored on personal APPM account.
• Non-APPM related material means no backups of home computer or data from other classes.
• Temporary data is to be stored on the /scratch portion of the computer to conserve space.
• Active accounts are only for active students, faculty and staff.
• Graduating students and retiring faculty will have 30 days to remove their files before their accounts are removed and their files archived.
• Access to archive files will be on a request basis.
