FAQs

Are orals mandatory?
No, orals are voluntary, but very much encouraged.

Will attending orals have a direct impact on my grade?
Because they are not mandatory, orals are not graded. So far, however, the research we have conducted has shown a trend in indirectly impacting grades through improved conceptual understanding.

What do I need to do to prepare for orals?
Since orals questions are conceptual in nature, reviewing the content from class notes or the book is strongly encouraged before attending an oral exam. The more you have to contribute to the orals session, the more you will benefit from it. Do not worry if you do not have mastery over all the subjects, though, because the facilitator will do their best to cater to your current level of comprehension. Have an open mind, and be prepared to discuss what you do (or don’t know) with peers and the facilitator.

The sign-ups system is not working, or I have forgotten my login information. What do I do?
If you are having trouble with this, send an e-mail to Marcia Flynt, the orals sign-ups coordinator.
