Undergraduate Mathematical Contest in Modeling
Each year, the Consortium for Mathematics and its Applications (Comap) sponsors the Mathematical Contest in Modeling (MCM), an international contest for undergraduates. Three APPM students, Brian Camley, Pascal Getreuer, and Bradley Klingenberg, have received the highest designation (Outstanding) three years in a row for their efforts in the contest.
They have now teamed up again to help other students achieve success in the contest by writing a paper, "The Quest of the MCM -- Conquering the Math Contest in Modeling," in which they discuss their stategy for developing models, writing the paper, the contest timeline, and team dynamics.
