lcnames

lcnames is a simple script to help you convert the names of files to lowercase, e.g.,

newton> lcnames DSC001.JPG *.GIF 2004.DAT

will perform the following commands:

mv  DSC001.JPG  dsc001.jpg
mv  Kate1.GIF  kate1.gif
mv  Kate2.GIF  kate2.gif
mv  KateZ.GIF  katez.gif
mv  2004.DAT  2004.dat
