The program that I created is a simple application that (in theory) will teach you how to knit by showing pictures of the process of casting on, using the knit or pearl stitch, and binding off the finished work. The pictures were taken from and attributed to howstuffworks.com and made into steps. I made the steps using nested movie clips that have stop commands inside so that there will be no continuous looping where it is not wanted. The buttons are programmed event listeners and function. When the button is clicked it will either go to and stop or go to and play the frame that is specified by name in the code. The “one” “two” and “three” are used to give the sense of time movement to the application as well as to help the user with knowing which step they are viewing. The “start” ,“middle”, “end” are used for the same purpose of letting the user know which chapter in the process they are currently viewing.
