The table below lists the sections covered in each lecture as well as the suggested textbook homework problems associated with the section. Links to the solutions will be added as soon as possible.
There are two types of homework problems in this course: online homework (listed as HW ) and written homework (listed as WRHW ). The online problems correspond to book problems and are listed below. Please be mindful of due dates. These problems are to be completed online through Webassign. There is online homework due almost every night. No written homeworks will be dropped.
Each week written assignments will be due on Wednesday at the beginning of class to your instructor. Written assignments are posted in the table below. Late homework will not be accepted or graded. Graded work will be returned during the next recitation, and the solutions will be posted on the course web page. Two online homeworks will be dropped.
The homework problems that are submitted for grading will be evaluated not only for mathematical soundness but also on presentation and style. In fact 60% will be mathematical content and 40% will be style. On your submitted homework, be sure to include your name, student number and recitation section number. Homework should be stapled together. Any concerns about the grading of your homework should be directed to your TA.
We want you to do well in this course! The keys to success are simple: read the book and do your homework regularly; ask questions when you do not understand.
No late homework will be graded.
