Mathematical Statistics (affectionately refered to as"mathstat") is, above all else, mathematics. If you are lookng for data analysis and "number crunching", you are most certainly in the wrong place! Mathstat is the probabilistic theory that drives statistical analysis. It is theorems and proofs and, quite possibly, the most fun you can have in a 50 minute time slot every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday!
