Office Hours and Computer Lab help sessions
Part of the objective of this course is to introduce you to data analysis with a help of a statistical software. This can be any software or programming language of your choice - from Excel, to Matlab, to R, to Stata, to SPSS, to SAS, to C or C++, or even Ruby. If you do not have any background computing knowledge, email me. We will help you get familiar with a statistical program enough to solve homework problems.
Please check our software page on a regular basis for tips.
Required text:
"Statistics
and Probability", 8th Edition, by Devore.
(Note: other editions can also be used.)

Homework (6): 30%
Midterms (2): 30%
Final: 30%
Course Participation: 10%
Midterm 1: Mon, Feb 20, 2012, in class. Closed book. One single-sided formula sheet allowed. BRING A CALCULATOR!
Midterm 2: Wed, Mar 21, 2012, in class. Closed book. One single-sided formula sheet allowed. BRING A CALCULATOR!
Final Exam: Wed, May 9, 2012. 4:30-7pm. Room TBA. This is a cumulative final exam. Closed book. One formula sheet (double sided) allowed.
