Monty Hall's Pet Store

Application Commentary
Manifesto By using the Monty Hall problem starter app, I hope to put a smile on people’s faces with the art, sounds, and fun that I will put into the application. This app was the one that interested me the most. I’ve always been interested in probability so I think this is a good app to extend. I really want to make the visuals more interesting than anything, because I know that visual interest is one of the key things that hold people’s attention, which is important. The next step that I want to finish is creating fun sounds and animations to keep the person’s attention once they’re interested in the app. I don’t think I’m going to be adding a lot of programming, just because I don’t think I’ll have time, since my main focus will be on art and animations.
Applied Math Applied math is kind of a hard portion to add into the app I chose. The only math that can really be in this application is the probability based on winning by staying or winning by switching. The probability by switching is generally higher that the probability of winning by staying, because it brings you to a 2 in 3 chance instead of a 1 in 3 change by staying with your first selection (assuming that you are playing with 3 doors.)
Art I mainly want to add rotoscope technique to the door when it opens, and also add a creaking sound. I definitely want to put something fun inside the doors. I also want to make the doors maybe float on clouds if the theme is Heaven and Hell, or maybe in a pet store if my theme is animals. I really enjoy the art portion of the CU program because I feel like I excel in arts and the arts always interest me. I will have fun rotoscoping the doors and choosing sounds effects for the doors opening.
Programming The programming portion of Digital CUrrents was really the hardest part for me, though I do know how to make buttons to take the user to a different page and back. For my application, I will probably just make an instructions page and a credits page… but, if I can, I want to do something kind of like what Randall did, whenever his good door got selected, it went to a clip of the cake with the candle burning. I would do that with the cute puppy at the pet store, wagging its tail and smiling.
