My project is going to be using the Monty Hall doors app. I am going to make it so you get to go somewhere. One place is really good to go, and the other two places wouldn't be too fun! The good door will lead to a nice vacation in the Bahamas! In the Bahamas there will be good service and all the free food and drinks you want! now on to the bad places. One of the bad places is in the middle of a desert. In the desert there will be snakes (I am going to use the snake I rotoscoped) and cactuses and other things. Then the other door will bring you to a jungle with a lot of scary and dangerous animals. Hopefully this will all work. I will try to do the same thing Randall did with his probability app where whatever door you choose it brings you to a different screen and shows the movie clip/video of where you go! I hope my app will help teach about the monty hall program.

My project will be using probability. It will incorporate the Monty Hall problem into it. I will try to teach why it is better to switch instead of stay with the original door. This is an example:
If you choose the first door then there is 1/3 chance that you chose the right door. But then one door goes away and there is two doors left. It would seem like it is a 1/2 chance right? But it is actually a 2/3 chance if you switch but only 1/3 chance if you stay. This is because your door has to stay because you chose it. But the other door stays there because it could be the right one. It is hard to explain but it is better to switch.
This is probably the best I can explain the applied math in my app.

In my app I will use some different art concepts. I will use rotoscoping. I will also use some original artwork of mine. I will be using movie clips and buttons. And maybe I will use motion to make people walk. So far I have made most of the snake for my project. But i still have to make the scenery for my "vacations". After you get your vacation I think I will make it look like your walking in the place (first person) and have the different things happen. The only problem with the first person view is the background. I am trying to figure out how i can keep changing the background while the person walks. In the Bahamas there will be people giving you drinks and girls in bikinis walking around. In the desert there will be my rotoscoped snake and maybe a mirage of water if I can do that. Then in the jungle there will be weird bugs crawling around and some tigers. I hope this will all turn out. but it will take a lot of work!

In my programming I will use event listeners and actions to make it work. I will also have to use stop actions etc. (just the basics). I don't think it will take a lot of extra coding than the original app. It will mostly be the same code for each door. I will just copy and paste it and change it around just a little tiny bit. This code will make the basic part of the app work (start/reset game, doors on stage)
function startClicked(evt:MouseEvent):void { // Need to cleanup the current game removeDoors(); var tempVal:int = int(txtNumDoors.text); // Make sure that the value entered is valid if (tempVal > 0 && tempVal < numdoors =" tempVal;" text = "P(winning by switching) = 0 (0 out of 0 trials)" text = "P(winning while staying) = 0 (0 out of 0 trials)">
That is basically all my programming.
