Source files for Thesis Class
Thesis Class
Be sure your computer has all
the following files. If you can't install them into
the main TeX directories, you can put them into your
current working directory.
rough drafts
You can use the file
thesis2side.cls
instead of thesis.cls if you need to print
rough drafts but wish to save paper by using
2-sided printing, smaller margins, and tighter
line spacing.
This file is a modification of thesis.cls.
To use it, download
thesis2side.cls
to your working directory,
and change the top line of your thesis LaTeX file from
\documentclass{thesis} to
\documentclass{thesis2side}.
You wouldn't use this for your final version
because its formatting doesn't conform to
Grad School specs -- be sure to revert to
\documentclass{thesis}
for final proofreading and printing.
file locations
The following directories/folders are typical
homes for the files mentioned above.
$TEXMF refers to the texmf
directory in your main TeX installation.

When these or any other TeX/LaTeX files are added to
a computer's TeX installation, you must run the
program $TEXHOME/bin/mktexlsr or otherwise
recompile TeX's internal index.
