I have been teaching at the University of Colorado for going on four years at this point. I teach in the Department of Applied Mathematics, and my area of concentration is computer animation and developing computer applications for teaching and learning. I have a Ph.D. from the University of Colorado. For much of my life, in addition to teaching, I have worked in the IT industry and also as a writer of popular technology books . Working with the students in Digital Explorations is a great pleasure for me. I enjoy meeting new participants each year and keeping in touch with those who have been in the program and graduated. I think that anyone can acquire the skills needed to seek a degree in science, technology, applied mathematics, or engineering. All that is needed is patiences, commitment, and time. The Digital Explorations program is above all something open to everyone, and the thing I want students to get most from it is to have fun learning. I believe deeply in the notion introduced by Roussea. The key to happiness it to do what you do well and liking what you do. I try to show everyone that math is, at some level, something everyone can both do well and like doing.
