This talk will focus on the implications of the existence of travelling wave solutions to the two-dimensional band modified nonlinear Schrodinger (BMNLS) equation. A symplectic numerical method used to solve the one-dimensional BMNLS equation provides numerical results indicating the existence of travelling wave solutions. This provides the basis for analytical recurrence results.
